About the role

Argus is looking for an Assistant Accountant who loves accuracy, thrives on tidy reconciliations, and enjoys being the go-to person for transactional excellence. This role is hands-on, varied, and central to keeping the financial engine running smoothly. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day accounting tasks while also having room to contribute to process improvements as they modernise and grow.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing AP/AR processing with speed and precision
• Maintaining the fixed asset register
• Performing daily bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting month-end processes and providing accurate financial information
• Preparing tax information (GST, PAYE, FBT)
• Assisting with payroll when required
• Working closely with suppliers, customers, and teams across the business

What you’ll bring:

• Solid accounting knowledge and a strong eye for detail
• Experience in transactional accounting (AP/AR, journals, reconciliations)
• A proactive, continuous-improvement mind set
• Great communication skills and the confidence to build strong working relationships
• A desire to grow your accounting capability as the business expands
• Whether you’re part-qualified or recently qualified, your drive to develop and contribute will be valued
