We have an opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a large, established organisation operating in a complex and highly regulated environment. This role will suit a senior finance professional who combines strong people leadership with deep technical accounting and reporting expertise, and who is comfortable interpreting accounting standards, leading audits, and resolving complex, non-routine accounting issues.
The Role
The Group Financial Controller plays a key role in leading the financial accounting function and supporting broader finance leadership. You will provide technical oversight across financial reporting, statutory compliance, and group-level accounting, while partnering closely with senior Managers across the organisation.
A core focus of the role is leading the team responsible for consolidated reporting and audit processes, providing advice on accounting standards, and supporting a range of ad-hoc and project-based accounting issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing financial accounting team
- Deliver accurate, timely consolidated financial and statutory reporting
- Interpret and apply accounting standards across complex and non-routine scenarios
- Manage external audit relationships and end-to-end audit processes
- Provide technical accounting advice for projects and ad-hoc initiatives
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and financial controls
- Partner with senior leaders to provide clear, practical financial advice
About You
You will be a confident and credible finance leader with strong technical capability and the ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels.
You will bring:
- CA qualification (or equivalent)
- Extensive experience in senior financial accounting or controllership roles
- Proven expertise in technical accounting, financial reporting, and audit management
- Strong leadership skills with experience building and motivating capable teams
- Excellent communication skills and sound professional judgement
