  • Fantastic Team Culture
  • Fast Growing National Group
  • Based in Blenheim

Monarch Platform is a fast growing, acquisitive national group with operations across Marlborough, Hawke’s Bay, Bay of Plenty, Tasman and Southland. Based primarily in Marlborough, right in the heart of New Zealand’s horticulture and viticulture sectors, Monarch runs four distinct businesses: Hortus, Ukko, Ceed and Tātou.

Monarch manages vineyards (Ukko) and orchards (Ceed) for leading growers, operate one of the country’s most respected RSE workforces (Hortus), and develop their own SaaS technology (Tātou). To support this scale, Monarch is strengthening its finance foundation and is now recruiting a new Accounts Assistant to join their core finance team and keep the day-to-day financial operations running smoothly.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Accountant, the Accounts Assistant is right at the centre of Monarch’s transactional finance engine. You’ll be processing accounts payable and receivable across multiple group entities, making sure suppliers are paid accurately and on time, customers are invoiced correctly, and debtor balances are kept in check.

You’ll reconcile AP and AR ledgers, maintain clean data, support month-end, and be one of the key people ensuring the numbers feeding Monarch’s financial statements are rock solid.

This is a role where accuracy matters, relationships matter, and pace is part of the everyday rhythm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing supplier invoices accurately and on time
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and approvals
  • Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
  • Responding to supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships
  • Raising customer invoices and monitoring debtor balances
  • Following up overdue accounts and allocating customer receipts
  • Reconciling AP and AR to the general ledger
  • Maintaining accurate vendor and customer master data
  • Supporting month-end close and external audits

You’ll be part of a tight, collaborative finance team that values reliability, consistency and clear communication.

About You

You might already be working in AP, AR or a transactional finance role, or you’re early in your accounting career and ready to step into a busy, hands-on environment.

You’ll be detail driven, organised, and confident managing volume and deadlines. You communicate well with suppliers, clients and internal teams, and you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting into the weeds when needed.

Most importantly, you fit Monarch’s MAP values: hungry, humble and smart. You like being part of a team that backs each other, moves quickly and keeps things real.

Company Culture

Monarch is a values driven organisation with a straight up, no ego, no nonsense approach. They deliver, they learn, they disrupt, they care, and they have fun along the way. Different perspectives are welcomed, support is genuine, and people take pride in building something meaningful together.

If you want a role where you’ll grow, be trusted, and be part of a company scaling nationwide, this is a standout opportunity.
