  • Diverse range of clients to manage

An established, locally owned Chartered Accounting and Business Advisory firm is seeking a Senior Client Manager (CA qualified) as part of a planned succession and future partnership strategy. This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional that wants more than a management role and is actively seeking a long-term career pathway into firm leadership and ownership.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a well-established client portfolio while working closely with the partners on advisory, client strategy, and the ongoing development of the practice. The role is designed to evolve over time into a broader leadership position, aligned with progression toward partnership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of commercial (and some rural) clients
  • Delivering accounting, tax compliance and business advisory services
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to business owners and key stakeholders
  • Reviewing work and mentoring intermediate and senior staff
  • Identifying growth and value-add opportunities within the client base
  • Contributing to leadership, succession and strategic planning initiatives

About You

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is essential
  • Proven experience managing clients in a public practice environment
  • Strong technical capability across accounting and tax
  • Commercial mind set with an interest in advisory and client growth
  • Leadership capability and confidence working directly with partners
  • Motivated by long-term career progression and future partnership

Why Consider This Opportunity

  • Genuine, defined pathway to partnership as part of an active succession plan
  • Early exposure to firm leadership and decision-making
  • Opportunity to build long-term equity and influence
  • Stable client base and respected local reputation
  • Supportive, professional and relationship-focused culture

This role will particularly appeal to a Manager or Senior Manager who is ready to step into a leadership track and wants clarity around future ownership, not just a title change.
