SPEX hold the view that every customer order represents a person waiting for greater independence, improved mobility or a better quality of life. With a commitment to integrated innovation, quality and excellence, SPEX have established a strong global presence, designing, manufacturing and exporting soft seating for mobility devices to over 30 countries worldwide. SPEX’s driving belief is they are not here simply to manufacture products but more to fulfil promises.
This role is primarily responsible for translating customer demand and agreed operational priorities into practical, coordinated production plans that will sustainably support reliable and responsive fulfilment of customer demand and expectation. The key path for effecting this is through strengthening the connection between customer demand and operational excellence.
Success looks like the ability to have an effective Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process that in turn provides a single reliable view of demand, capacity, constraints and operational priorities otherwise known as ‘One source of the truth’ and in turn the ability to meet customer demands on time in full within a business experiencing constant and consistent growth.
Your background will be grounded in manufacturing to be able to understand and assess production capacity. Contributing to and working closely with manufacturing manager, a reliable production plan requires strong analytical, numerical and data literacy skills and being adept at using business intelligence, data visualisation and analytical based tools to support your conclusions and recommendations. Understanding the Theory of Constraints is fairly essential. SPEX operates on ‘Lean’ principals and uses FrePPLe as its default planning tool and Odoo as its ERP system , so your prior experience with these and in applying the mantra of ‘continuous improvement’ will sit as part of your core skills and philosophy of how to achieve the reliable planning and operational excellence.
This role is about providing visibility, coordination and insight and has genuine scope for growing the extension of influence and support into demand planning, Inventory management and Supply Chain decision making.
