Ryman Healthcare is New Zealand’s largest retirement living and aged care provider, operating 49 villages across New Zealand and Australia. The organisation is in the middle of a business transformation, focused on operational excellence, commercial discipline, and long-term value creation. Ryman is resetting how it operates, tightening execution, and building the capability needed to perform at scale in a more complex and competitive environment. This is an opportunity to step into a role where strong leadership, sharp commercial judgement, and systems thinking will directly contribute to enterprise-wide outcomes during a critical phase of change.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll lead Ryman’s Financial Systems Hub, the central function that keeps financial systems stable, well governed, and continuously improving. You’ll oversee the roadmap, manage competing priorities, and ensure Finance, Technology, Data & Insights, and external vendors are aligned and delivering well.

This role blends programme leadership, systems oversight, and people influence, which is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting teams, simplifying complexity, and guiding change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, prioritisation, and delivery of financial systems projects
  • Maintain oversight of core systems including Greentree ERP, IBM Planning Analytics, billing platforms, and integrations
  • Strengthen governance across access, change control, documentation, and audit requirements
  • Build and lead the Financial Systems Hub operating model
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and better user experience
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and delivery partners
  • Build internal capability through documentation, training, and knowledge sharing
  • Influence outcomes across Finance, Technology, and senior stakeholders

About You

You’re a people focused leader who builds trust quickly and communicates with clarity. You’re confident, pragmatic, and resilient and you’re someone who can navigate ambiguity, challenge assumptions respectfully, and keep delivery moving.

You’ll bring:

  • A strong finance background and understanding of how processes and controls flow through systems
  • Experience leading systems based projects and programmes
  • The ability to influence across teams and translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A collaborative, relationship driven style
  • Comfort managing competing priorities and guiding teams through change
  • Experience with tools such as IBM Planning Analytics or similar, and ERP systems

What’s in it for You?

  • Supportive, down-to-earth team culture
  • Flexible working and wellbeing leave
  • Professional development and career progression
  • Over 60 employee discounts with well-known brands
  • Social club events, furry Fridays (bring your dog to work)
  • Convenient Ryman owned onsite café (Pioneers Café) with affordable coffee and delicious food options

If you’re a relationship driven leader who loves improving systems, shaping structure, and helping Finance operate at its best, this is a role where you will make a meaningful difference.
