Argus Group Limited is on a growth journey — and they are looking for a highly capable Financial Controller to lead their finance function and help shape the future of our business.

Based in Christchurch, this senior leadership role reports directly to the Group Finance Manager and offers significant scope to influence strategic direction, improve operational efficiency, and develop a high-performing finance team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Deliver timely, accurate financial and management reporting with commercial insight
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling initiatives
• Provide strategic guidance to support key business decisions and projects
• Champion process improvements and system optimisation (NetSuite experience a plus)
• Ensure robust internal controls, compliance with NZ IFRS, and tax obligations
• Partner with Sales, Manufacturing, and Operational leaders to improve margins and ROI
• Develop and mentor a capable finance team, fostering autonomy and performance

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader in a growth environment
• Strong commercial acumen and a strategic, hands-on approach
• Demonstrated success in process improvement and leveraging ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
• CA or CPA qualified, with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
