Our client is a well-established New Zealand manufacturing business operating across multiple product streams and service lines, supplying customers throughout NZ and Australia. It’s a complex, fast moving environment where quality, reliability and long-term relationships are at the heart of how they operate. As the business continues to grow, they have created a new Customer Experience Team Leader role. They’re looking for someone with solid team leadership experience who is ready to broaden their impact, a leader who brings care, energy and empathy, and who is keen to keep developing as the function evolves. This role is designed for a hands-on Team Leader who has built strong leadership foundations and is ready to keep growing in a broader, more visible role.

The Role

You’ll lead a team of five experienced and fully engaged Customer Experience Coordinators who manage ongoing B2B relationships with key customers. Their work is relationship driven and they take pride in delivering exceptional service. We are looking for a leader who can build on that culture, support the team’s continued success, and grow their own leadership impact along the way.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll guide the team, keep momentum high, run coaching and 1:1s, manage workflow, and step in to support customer queries. As the business expands the scope of this function, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to process improvement, learn more about leading through growth, and help prepare the team for what comes next.

What you’ll bring:

  • Practical experience leading, coaching or coordinating a customer-facing team
  • A leadership style grounded in care, accountability and trust
  • Confidence to lead day to day, with the self-awareness to keep learning and ask good questions
  • A genuine interest in growing as a people leader while staying close to customers and the work
  • The drive to contribute, improve and gradually take on broader responsibility as the function grows
