Parks Towing is a leading towing and recovery business with a strong reputation for reliability, safety, and customer service. As their operations continue to grow and become more complex, they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead their people, systems, and day-to-day service delivery.
This role is part of the senior leadership team and responsible for ensuring the business operates efficiently, safely, and profitably in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee dispatch, fleet operations, line haul, yard operations, and administration. Your focus will be on building strong systems, lifting operational performance, and ensuring staff and equipment resources flex effectively to meet fluctuating customer demand.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clear leadership and direction to operational teams
- Designing, implementing and improving operational systems, processes, and controls
- Using data, KPIs and reporting to manage productivity, utilisation, response times, and cost efficiency
- Managing complex staff rostering and resource planning to ensure coverage across variable workloads and shifts
- Driving continuous improvement to improve service delivery and profitability
- Partnering with finance to ensure accurate reporting and alignment to business targets
- Ensuring health, safety, and regulatory compliance are embedded in daily operations
- Building strong relationships with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Leading coaching & developing the team
About You
You are a commercially minded operational leader who brings structure, discipline, and accountability to complex service environments. You are proactive, responsive, and comfortable making decisions in dynamic conditions.
You will bring:
- Proven leadership experience in operations, logistics, transport, fleet, or service-based environments
- Strong systems and process capability, with experience improving workflows and controls
- A data-led approach to managing operational performance
- Demonstrated experience managing rosters, capacity planning, and resource allocation
- A proactive, solution-focused leadership style with strong judgement
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Commitment to health, safety, and continuous improvement
- A business-related qualification (or equivalent experience) and a full driver’s licence are required.
