  • High Profile & Successful Brand
  • Accounting Analysis & Reporting Role
  • Offices Based in Sockburn

Stihl Shop Fosters is a well-established brand, selling and servicing the leading range of Stihl chainsaws & power equipment, along with other associated outdoor equipment. With three retail operations based in Sockburn, Northwood and Rangiora, their market reach is second to none and with continued investment and through a strong commitment to customer service they will continue to expand and develop the business.

The Finance Manager works as part of a small and cohesive team taking direct responsibility for overseeing the core aspects of the accounting at a transactional processing level, while then working with the Sales Manager and the Retail Managers to support their information needs and deliver a full range of business performance analysis & reporting. Other important components will include accounting/reporting for the product inventory, looking after the payroll and GST/PAYE compliance and then the monthly accounts for three entities that make up the group. At year end you will work with the external accountants to finalise the statutory accounts.  Supported by two staff members the opportunity exists to develop your leadership/people management skills and as you learn the business, gain a wider involvement by contributing new growth initiatives and the further development of the business systems including the introduction of Power BI for reporting.

We view this position as an ideal opportunity for candidates who have established themselves in senior accounting roles, but want a role where they can do more and so take that next step. Relevant accounting qualifications are important, but equally you will need to demonstrate proven experience in the areas of financial accounting, business analysis, reporting and general financial administration. This technical competence needs to be balanced against personal qualities that should include a strong focus on quality, a positive and can do approach that will provide a pathway to developing the role further.
