SPEX hold the view that every customer order represents a person waiting for greater independence, improved mobility or a better quality of life. With a commitment to integrated innovation, quality and excellence, SPEX have established a strong global presence, designing, manufacturing and exporting soft seating for mobility devices to over 30 countries worldwide. SPEX’s driving belief is they are not here simply to manufacture products but more to fulfil promises.
This role will take you across sourcing, commercial management and management of supplier performance, taking into account impacts on the business and assessment of risk. You will report to and work in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager. With those materials that are of higher risk or criticality to the business, you will support the Supply Chain Manager around development of Suppliers and also setting strategic supply activity. You will directly manage commercially significant, high impact but lower risk suppliers and with those of lower impact, lower risk and more transactional supplies you will establish a reliable low touch system and process. Given your role and position you will be a contributor to the development and management of a strategic purchasing framework and model with the goal of achieving ‘best total value’.
Given that you will have the opportunity to be directly involved in material sourcing, supplier selection and performance, negotiation of commercial terms, risk profiling and inventory planning, your background needs to identify and provide confidence of your knowledge, competence and experience in each of these areas. Your communication skills and the ability to develop sustainable commercial relationships will be fundamental to understanding requirements in a timely manner and establishing confidence around continuity of materials supply. This also then implies that you will have strength in analysing forecast need against materials ordered and the ability to plan forward with a clear understanding of the concept of total cost of ownership.
Given the growth available to SPEX, there will be real opportunity for progression for the right person.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received and interviews may take place early, therefore early applications are encouraged.
To be considered you must contact Echelon Group directly as applications through other agencies will not be considered or accepted.
