Orion NZ is working to power a cleaner and brighter future with the community across Canterbury. Working for Orion means you will be joining a best-in-class electricity network that enables energy choice and supports decarbonising our region. They are ensuring the network can deliver the increased demand for New Zealand’s greenest energy to reduce carbon emissions from transportation and process heat. People matter to them and so they care deeply about the community they serve as well as about people working for them.

Working within the Financial Services team this role is focused on managing credit and ensuring smooth recoveries and collections. This will involve negotiating payment plans and at times resolving matters through the Disputes Tribunal. The responsibilities also include delivering exceptional customer service, with a community focus, while maintaining a strong, collaborative approach with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

We view this as a wonderful opportunity for candidates who have those proven credit control and credit management skills. The role is part time (0.6 FTE) and offers a high level of autonomy for managing a key finance function, while ensuring all the compliance requirements are met.

Your proven credit management skills need to be balanced against the ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, a strong eye for detail and accuracy, initiative and enthusiasm, good computer skills and the ability to work independently while working as part of the wider financial services team.

You'll find at Orion, you can come as you are and just be you. You will be joining a workplace that values who you are, the work you do, and the way you think. Importantly, Orion offers:

  • flexible working arrangements, and flexible locations with our Head office in Burnside and satellite offices in Rolleston and Ferrymead
  • three days of “My Days” leave
  • a broad range of workplace benefits from a wellbeing allowance to access to our holiday house in Hanmer!

You might be surprised to find out that the company that brings the power to your home is innovative, inclusive, progressive, and quite good fun.
