Join a forward thinking team that’s shaping the future of water infrastructure in Marlborough. We’re seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the delivery of 3 Waters capital upgrades, across drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater systems.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex and meaningful capital works projects across the water and sewerage networks. Working within a collaborative Council environment, you’ll manage projects from planning through to delivery, including:

• Reviewing and reporting on design work
• Design of smaller scale 3 waters projects
• Overseeing external consultants and contractors
• Monitoring construction progress on-site
• Managing a team and mentoring project engineers
• Ensuring health, safety, and compliance are maintained throughout

This role offers a blend of technical leadership and hands-on project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• A degree in Engineering or NZDE (Civil or related discipline)
• 5+ years' experience in infrastructure delivery, local government, consultancy, or contracting background welcome
• Proven project management experience across the project lifecycle
• Design experience in stormwater, water, or wastewater
• Confident communicator and relationship-builder with internal teams, consultants, and contractors
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to public service and sustainability
