Lynn River is a proudly New Zealand-owned business with over 50 years of experience supplying high-quality PPE, safety products and workwear solutions throughout New Zealand and Australia. Their purpose is simple: Because We Care. Every day they help create safer workplaces through trusted relationships, technical expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement.
As they continue to grow and plan for the future they are seeking a Finance Manager to join the team in Geraldine.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CFO/COO, this newly created role offers far more than a traditional finance position. From the outset, you will play a pivotal role across both the finance and procurement functions, providing the financial insights and working with the team to improve commercial disciplines that will be required to support business performance and growth.
You will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis, while also helping to lead the purchasing activities, support supplier relationships, and focus on the inventory optimisation and supply chain planning. Working closely with leaders across the business, you will also help ensure informed decision-making, continuity of supply, strong inventory performance and the effective management of costs and margins.
Importantly, this role has been designed with the future in mind. While finance and procurement will form the core of your responsibilities from day one, there will be ongoing opportunities to broaden your involvement across inventory management, operational performance and business improvement initiatives. The long-term objective is to strengthen the connection between finance, supply chain and operations, ensuring the business have the capability, discipline and commercial insight required to support continued growth and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
About You
You are an experienced finance professional who enjoys looking beyond the numbers and understanding how a business operates. You are naturally curious, commercially minded and motivated by the opportunity to influence outcomes rather than simply report on them.
You will bring strong analytical capability, sound financial acumen and a proactive approach to problem solving. Ideally, you will also have an interest in or exposure to procurement, supply chain or inventory management and enjoy working across multiple areas of a business. Comfortable building relationships across all levels of an organisation, you enjoy collaborating with others, improving processes and helping teams achieve better results.
Ideally, you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification and be CA qualified, or working towards an equivalent professional qualification. Experience using integrated ERP systems and advanced Excel skills will be important, along with the ability to translate financial information into practical insights that support better business decisions.
Why Lynn River?
You'll join a collaborative team where your ideas will be valued, your contribution recognised and your role will develop to have a direct impact on business performance.
If you're looking for a role where you can grow and develop and make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
