An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced banking professional to join Rabobank's Southland team as a Major Agribusiness Manager.

The Opportunity

This is a senior client-facing role responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of Rabobank's larger and more complex agribusiness clients across Southland.

Working with leading farming enterprises, agricultural investors and agribusiness operators, you will become a trusted adviser, helping clients navigate growth opportunities, capital investment decisions, succession planning and changing market conditions.

You will lead complex transactions, provide strategic banking solutions and work closely with specialist teams across credit, treasury and financial markets to deliver outstanding outcomes for clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and growing a portfolio of major agribusiness clients.
  • Developing trusted relationships with business owners, directors and key stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities across lending, capital structure, working capital and risk management solutions.
  • Structuring and leading complex banking transactions.
  • Undertaking sophisticated financial and cash flow analysis.
  • Preparing and presenting high-quality credit submissions.
  • Building a pipeline of new business opportunities across the Southland market.
  • Collaborating with specialist teams to deliver tailored client solutions.
  • Maintaining Rabobank's strong profile within the rural and agribusiness community.

About You

You will be an experienced relationship manager with strong commercial instincts, proven credit capability and a genuine passion for the agribusiness sector.

To succeed in this role you will likely bring:

  • Significant experience within rural, agribusiness, commercial or corporate banking.
  • A strong understanding of large-scale farming operations and agribusiness businesses.
  • Advanced credit analysis and financial modelling capability.
  • Experience managing complex lending relationships and transactions.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • A strong track record of business development and portfolio growth.
  • The ability to engage confidently with sophisticated business owners, governance groups and professional advisers.
  • Sound commercial judgement and a solutions-focused approach.

You may currently be working within agribusiness banking, commercial banking, corporate banking or a related financial services environment and be looking for the opportunity to work more deeply within New Zealand's food and fibre sector.
