Farmgard is expanding its presence in Southland and is seeking an experienced sales professional who understands the agricultural machinery sector and the importance of strong relationships within the farming community.

With more than 40 years of history across three generations, Farmgard has built a trusted reputation based on honesty, innovation and genuine customer support. Today the business operates across New Zealand and Australia, supporting farmers and contractors with proven machinery solutions through an established dealer network.

This role offers the opportunity to represent respected agricultural equipment brands such as Abbey, Berti, Celli and others working directly with farmers, contractors and rural businesses across one of New Zealand’s most productive farming regions.

The Opportunity

As Territory Sales for Southland, you will play a key role in developing demand for Farmgard’s machinery solutions. You will work closely with farmers and contractors to identify opportunities, demonstrate value and support the dealer network to successfully deliver equipment solutions.

This is a relationship-driven role suited to someone who understands how to develop new business and how business is done in rural communities. Success will come from building trust, identifying opportunities on-farm and working collaboratively with dealers to convert opportunities into sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, contractors and rural businesses
  • Generate demand for Farmgard’s machinery solutions across the territory
  • Work closely with the dealer network to support equipment sales opportunities
  • Identify new market opportunities within the agricultural, civil and contractor sectors
  • Represent the Farmgard brand with professionalism and integrity in the rural community

About You

You may currently be working in agricultural machinery, rural services, farm equipment, or a related industry and understand the community and farming sector within Southland.

You will likely bring:

  • Experience in agricultural or machinery sales
  • Strong relationships or networks within the Southland farming community
  • A practical understanding of farming operations and machinery applications
  • Proven ability to develop business and close opportunities
  • A reputation for honesty, reliability and customer commitment
