A key focus of the Business Manager role is ensuring the seamless flow of work across the business, from contract award through to operational delivery and the financial tracking to final invoicing. This is a hands-on, commercially critical role responsible for maintaining control, visibility, and discipline across multiple live projects in a fast-moving environment.
The Role
This newly created position is not a passive support role — it will be central to how the business operates efficiently and scales its operations to capitalise on growth opportunities. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the key business functions, ensuring projects are accurately set up, well tracked, delivered on time, and invoiced correctly. Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end management of contracts, including co-ordinating tender submissions
- Driving improvements in business systems, reporting, and operational processes using modern digital tools and automation where appropriate
- Coordinating work flow between sales, operations, and delivery teams
- Maintaining oversight of project status, milestones, and delivery tracking
- Identifying and resolving gaps in workflow, operations processes, or financial tracking
- Managing invoicing, accounts receivable, and supporting cash flow visibility
- Ensuring accurate and timely financial processing and job cost reporting
- Assisting with CAA, Health & Safety and regulatory compliance documentation
About You
You need to be a highly organised, commercially minded operator who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment where priorities shift and things need to move quickly and accurately. You will need to take ownership rather than waiting for direction, and be comfortable being the person who ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
You will likely have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Business operations and project coordination in a commercial environment
- Documentation skills with contract administration and job tracking
- Financial administration skills with invoicing and cash flow support
- Leadership roles ideally in a growing organisation
- Proven skills in systems improvement, process discipline, and operational reporting
Importantly, you will bring:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow things through
- A proactive, accountable approach to problem solving
- Confidence working across multiple areas and the ability to prioritise
- Commercial awareness, particularly around job costing, invoicing, and cash flow
- Comfort working in an evolving business where some of the structure is still developing
- Exposure to and or an interest in using modern business systems, automation, or AI tools to improve efficiency is a definite advantage
Why Join?
- Work with cutting-edge drone technology with the potential for AI development
- Be part of a growing New Zealand business operating in challenging and high-impact environments
- Play a central role in ensuring operational and commercial discipline as the business scales
- Influence how systems, workflows, and reporting evolve as the organisation grows
This is a South Canterbury-based role with real ownership and impact across the business. Drone experience is not essential, the role is focused on business management, operations, and commercial performance. ProVision can support the right candidate to develop an understanding of their technology and how they operate over time.
