An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced credit professional to lead Rabobank’s Relationship and Credit Analyst teams across the region.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Agri Credit Analysts, you will play a pivotal role in driving credit quality, workflow efficiency, team capability and risk discipline across the region.

This is a significant leadership position where you will balance people leadership with technical credit expertise, setting the benchmark for high quality credit submissions, consistent decision making and strong stakeholder collaboration. You will work closely with Rural Managers, Regional Managers and senior leaders across Country Banking New Zealand to ensure clients receive timely, well considered lending outcomes aligned to Rabobank’s strategy and risk appetite.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a high performing team of Relationship and Credit Analysts.
  • Driving consistency, quality and efficiency across all credit analysis and submissions.
  • Acting as the regional escalation point for complex credit matters.
  • Building a culture focused on capability uplift, collaboration and accountability.
  • Strengthening credit standards, best practice processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting workflow management, turnaround performance and prudential requirements.
  • Partnering with Rural Managers to enhance deal structuring, analysis and submission quality.
  • Contributing to national credit strategy and broader leadership initiatives across Country Banking NZ.
  • Providing insights on trends, rework drivers and opportunities for improvement.

About You

You will be a credible and respected credit leader with strong judgement, excellent coaching capability and a passion for developing people.

You are likely to bring:

  • Senior experience within rural banking, agribusiness finance or a related credit environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire, coach and lift team performance.
  • Strong credit analysis, structuring and risk assessment capability.
  • A track record of driving quality, consistency and workflow efficiency.
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to influence outcomes, lead change and embed best practice.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a commitment to delivering great client outcomes.

A background in agribusiness or rural lending will be highly regarded.
