Ngāi Tahu Holdings Corporation is seeking an experienced, commercially astute Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Leadership Team and partner with our Farming & Forestry business.

This is more than a traditional business partnering role. You’ll shape strategic decisions, challenge thinking and support long-term value creation across one of Ngāi Tahu’s most significant operating portfolios.

What you’ll do

Working closely with the General Manager Farming & Forestry and senior leaders, you’ll provide strategic financial leadership and commercial insight to strengthen performance now and position the business for the future.

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing commercial insight and constructive challenge.
• Support strategic planning, investment decisions and long-term value creation.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis and decision-support modelling.
• Develop business cases and commercial evaluations, identifying risks, opportunities and ways to improve performance.
• Support capital planning and major initiatives, and coach and develop a small finance team.
• Lift capability across Group Finance, improve systems, processes and reporting, and build strong relationships across Ngāi Tahu Holdings.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be a proven commercial finance leader who combines strong technical capability with strategic thinking, sound judgement and the confidence to influence at a senior level.

You may be a Senior Finance Business Partner or finance leader in a complex operational environment, with a track record of improving performance and decision-making through effective business partnering.

• Significant experience in commercial finance, business partnering or finance leadership.
• Strong commercial judgement and financial modelling, planning and analytical skills.
• The credibility and communication skills to engage, influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
• Experience coaching and developing others, with a passion for lifting team capability.
• A continuous improvement mindset and the drive to make things better.
• CAANZ qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in agribusiness, primary industries, forestry or farming sector would be an advantage.
