My career in recruitment started in 2004 in London when I was working in the aviation industry. I fell into recruitment (as is often the case) and found a niche area working with clients in the travel and tourism industry. Since then I haven’t looked back and can’t imagine ever doing anything else. I love my job and the people I get to meet every day.
After returning back to my hometown of Christchurch in 2008 I worked for a large multi-national recruiter before joining Echelon Group in 2011. At Echelon Group I have found that sweet spot, working with a bunch of great people who are well networked, know what they’re talking about and
who treat people with respect and honesty. We are a smaller and more specialised group of recruiters, but I love how that really works for our clients, especially when they need that specialist sector knowledge.
Candidates tell us that they value the genuine insights and career advice we can offer and through those well-established candidate networks I am often the Consultant who can come up with those hard to find candidates for a client, when the traditional recruitment approach just doesn’t hit the right mark. I will never try and push anyone into doing anything that’s not right for them, that’s just not my style. I look at any recruitment assignment I undertake as a long term option for both the client and candidate.
My primary areas of focus are the recruitment of accounting & finance personnel across the banking & finance, professional services and consulting sectors, as well as supporting my CFO clients across a full range of other industry sectors, with their finance team recruitment needs.
With a young family of three small children, my life is always busy but that’s how I like it. When I’m not recruiting or parenting, you can usually find me shopping or trying out new cocktail recipes (whenever I can convince the husband to pick the kids up on a Friday afternoon!).
