It was a natural progression for me to join the team at Echelon Group. After 3 years working in recruitment, I felt it was time for me to expand my horizons and join an experienced group of likeminded and well regarded consultants.
It was the year 2007 in Melbourne where I had my first experience working in recruitment with Rosemary Scott one of the true pioneers. On my return to Christchurch, during the beginning of the GFC, I took the opportunity to set up my own business, selling and representing boutique brands into New Zealand. One thing leads to another and my small business led into a Sales Executive position covering all of Australia as my territory. After several years and many Airpoints dollars gained later, I felt it was time to get back into the corporate world of recruitment and I haven’t looked back!
I feel fortunate to have landed myself a career that enables me to utilise my strengths and passions, whilst never having a dull day. I have a genuine interest in people, I thoroughly enjoy building lasting and authentic relationships with my candidates and clients. I predominately focus on senior marketing, communications, sales and most recently senior positions in the property sector. I feel that my varied career working in various sales & marketing positions across tourism and hotels (in the early days), and professional services and fashion in more recent years, has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and empathy to truly understand my clients business objectives and my candidate’s career plans.
Conversing with people throughout the working week doesn’t stop me from socialising with friends and family in my spare time. However, I believe it is important to stop and unwind and I lean towards yoga, swimming and skiing to do so. I also enjoy music, a good book and spending time in the Marlborough Sounds, where I may lose a game of Ludo, but win at relaxing.
